As a Senior Project Engineer, Control Firmware, you will join the Firmware Development Team Lead’s team in Mequon, Wisconsin to develop and maintain embedded software for motor controls. Your daily tasks include designing motor control models in MATLAB/Simulink, developing features for various types of motors, interfacing model-based code with C/C++, simulating and testing on drives/motors, and optimizing and validating the code. You will also participate in requirement specifications and code reviews while leading investigations into anomalies and new feature explorations. This role requires expertise in motor control algorithms, converter modulation strategies, and agile development methodologies, along with extensive experience in model-based design and real-time systems for embedded software.

What you'll do

Design motor control models in MATLAB/Simulink for various motor types.
Develop and optimize embedded software features using C/C++ for VFDs.
Simulate and test code at multiple stages, from bench to actual drives/motors.
Validate and ensure reliability and safety of the developed firmware.
Lead investigations into anomalies and explore new feature implementations.

What we're looking for

12+ years of experience in embedded software development with model-based design.
Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink for motor control models and algorithm development.
Proficiency in C/C++ for interfacing model-based code with other modules.
Experience working in an agile (SAFe) development environment.
