As a Senior Network Engineer in Zillow’s Endpoint and Campus Infrastructure Security team, you will be responsible for designing, operating, and managing on-premises network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity for employees. Your day-to-day tasks include owning the architecture and lifecycle of corporate office and campus networks, including equipment refreshes and vendor engagement, while also partnering with security teams to implement Zero Trust access patterns. You will continuously improve LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, maintain remote access solutions, and serve as a senior technical escalation point during incidents. Key skills required include expertise in Juniper networking platforms, knowledge of physical network infrastructure, and experience with enterprise remote access solutions. This role demands strong communication abilities to mentor other engineers through design reviews and shared problem-solving sessions.
Own architecture, standards, lifecycle, and health of corporate on-premises office and campus network infrastructure.
Design, operate, and continuously improve LAN, WAN, and wireless networks for various scenarios.
Operate and maintain enterprise employee remote access solutions for secure connectivity.
Partner with security teams to implement identity-aware and Zero Trust-aligned access patterns.
Serve as senior technical escalation point during incidents, leading end-to-end incident response.
Develop and maintain clear network documentation, standards, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
What we're looking for
Significant experience designing and operating enterprise on-premises or campus networks.
Expertise in Juniper networking platforms including switching, routing, and wireless technologies.
Deep understanding of physical network infrastructure such as MDF/IDF design and cabling.
Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN fundamentals, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and Wi-Fi design.
Experience with enterprise remote access solutions like SSL VPNs and network security principles.
Proficiency in network monitoring and incident response practices for operational excellence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical topics clearly.
