Senior Applied Scientist, Leo Satellite Build Intelligence

What you'll do

• Lead the design, training, and deployment of machine learning models for satellite manufacturing.
• Translate real-world manufacturing problems into scientific approaches with clear evaluation criteria.
• Train and fine-tune models using large-scale, noisy datasets with incomplete ground truth.
• Develop closed-loop learning systems where model outputs influence manufacturing decisions.
• Define robust evaluation frameworks to capture real-world failure modes and decision risks.

What we're looking for

• PhD or Master's degree with at least 6 years of applied research experience.
• Expertise in building machine learning models for business applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python.
• Experience training and evaluating ML models on large-scale real-world datasets.
• Ability to apply statistical analysis and experimentation to improve model performance.
• Strong background in deploying machine learning models into production systems.
• Experience working closely with engineering teams to integrate AI solutions.
