We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Platform Trust Intelligence and Security (PTIS) team, responsible for detecting, isolating, and containing threats in an AI-driven enterprise environment. This hands-on role involves designing secure runtimes, telemetry systems, and real-time behavioral detection mechanisms to ensure agents operate within defined boundaries without compromising security or performance. Key responsibilities include building sandboxed agent execution environments using microVMs like Firecracker for high-density isolation, implementing tiered autonomy models, and developing robust detection and response frameworks with ML integration. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in platform engineering, secure runtimes, and applied machine learning, along with expertise in Python, JVM languages, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tools. This role addresses the growing security challenges of AI-driven systems at scale, ensuring compliance and customer trust while pushing the boundaries of AI development practices.

What you'll do

  • Design and build secure runtime for AI agents with hard isolation.
  • Develop real-time behavioral detection systems to score agent behavior against learned baselines.
  • Implement policy-driven response orchestration for containment actions without customer impact.
  • Create telemetry pipeline capturing end-to-end traces of agent activities at scale.
  • Maintain compliance posture and establish alerting for both platform health and agent signals.

What we're looking for

  • 9+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Security Infrastructure Engineer, or Software Engineer.
  • Hands-on expertise with microVM and container isolation technologies in production environments.
  • Direct experience building sandboxed code-execution environments for AI agents at scale.
  • Strong understanding of tiered autonomy, capability-based security, and blast-radius controls.
  • Experience building detection-and-response platforms including telemetry pipelines and ML serving.
  • Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, and multi-cloud substrates.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and containerization/orchestration tools.
