TL;DR · RF Silicon Software Engineer (RFIC Engineering)

Join SpaceX’s RFIC Engineering team as a senior-level software engineer, where you will design and build unique automated measurement systems for cutting-edge RF silicon used in satellite communication systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include creating new hardware and software designs to support first-time chip power-ups, developing tools and libraries for instrument control and data analysis, and validating reference designs for integration into production and flight software. You’ll need expertise in Python or C++ for software development, hands-on experience with radio test equipment, and knowledge of digital communication protocols. This role demands strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on fast-paced projects that span hardware and software domains, contributing to the development of satellite technology at scale.

What you'll do

  • Design and build unique automated measurement systems for RF silicon.
  • Bring up new silicon, being the first engineer to power on chips.
  • Develop tools and reusable libraries for instrument control and data analysis.
  • Deeply understand measurement data to gain insight into component/system performance.
  • Create fully validated reference designs (hardware and software) for new silicon.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in software development using C#, Python, or C++
  • Hands-on experience with radio-related test equipment and serial digital communication protocols
  • Experience designing, fabricating, and assembling quick-turn PCBs
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues
