As a Principal Cloud Engineer, DevOps at Abbott’s ADC Diabetes Care division, you will lead complex engineering activities in cloud architecture and DevOps functions. Your daily tasks include designing scalable and cost-efficient solutions, maintaining software specifications, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring other engineers. You will work with technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable platform operations. Additionally, you will contribute to requirement gathering, risk analysis, and root-cause investigations across applications and infrastructure. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure engineering, along with expertise in Linux environments, enterprise networking concepts, and automated testing practices.
Develops and maintains detailed design specifications for cloud and infrastructure components.
Implements, enhances, and modifies software source code and procedures in DevOps environments.
Conducts root-cause analysis of failures across applications and supporting infrastructure.
Designs and updates test requirements and cases to ensure scalability and efficiency.
Provides strategic advice on identified issues for future development improvements.
Mentors other engineers in cloud design, DevOps practices, and best engineering standards.
What we're looking for
Minimum 10 years of experience in cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure engineering.
Expertise in multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong background in networking concepts, virtualization, and VPCs.
Experience with unit testing, integration-level testing, and automated testing.
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, geographically diverse environment.
