As a Principal Platform Software Engineer at Oracle’s Health Data Intelligence and Life Sciences organization, you will join the data platform team (Oracle Health Data Services) as an individual contributor, focusing on transforming healthcare by developing scalable and reliable cloud-hosted software services. Your day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with architects to design system components, implementing features for a multi-tenant data platform that supports AI, agentic, and traditional analytics workloads, and ensuring operational excellence in regulated environments. You will need proficiency in Java or Python, strong knowledge of cloud-native services like OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience with distributed storage systems, streaming CDC, and large-scale batch processing tools such as Spark and Flink. Ideal candidates also have expertise in multi-modal persistence patterns, search and retrieval for AI use cases, applied LLM/NLP techniques, and data governance practices to secure PHI/PII data.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement key components in a multi-tenant data platform for AI, agentic, and traditional analytics workloads.
  • Resolve complex technical issues related to the design or implementation of technologies used in healthcare data platforms.
  • Ensure that platform architectures meet standards for scale, reliability, resilience, security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product management and development teams to build scalable software systems for cloud-hosted services.
  • Drive operational excellence by implementing best practices for delivering highly reliable and efficient cloud-based software solutions.

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years of experience in software development, preferably with a BS or MS degree in Computer Science.
  • Proficient in Java and/or Python for developing scalable cloud-based solutions.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing distributed storage systems and data warehouses.
  • Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (CDC) and large-scale batch processing tools like Spark or Flink.
  • Strong understanding of cloud concepts and native services on OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of multi-modal persistence patterns including relational, document, vector, and graph storage.
