As a Payments Risk Analyst on Coinbase's Risk & Fraud team, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating fraud risk across the company’s fiat payment systems to protect both customers and the business. Your day-to-day tasks include scaling fraud prevention processes, implementing targeting logic against fraudulent activities, conducting quantitative analysis of fraud performance, and partnering with cross-functional teams to develop custom risk management strategies. You will also execute investigations into suspicious customer behavior and close monitoring gaps before they result in losses. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience in payments fraud prevention, strong SQL skills for querying large datasets, knowledge of ACH payment processing, and the ability to measure financial impacts of fraud decisions. Familiarity with machine learning models used in fraud detection is a plus, as well as an understanding of blockchain analytics within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
