Network Engineer, Principal Specialist, Onsite, Marlborough, MA

What you'll do

• Maintain smooth operation of voice and data networks by installing and reconfiguring hardware and software.
• Develop technical expertise in network hardware and software interconnections, such as switches, routers, firewalls, and authentication servers.
• Propose cost-effective solutions to management for future communication requirements, including redundancy and uptime considerations.
• Prepare or create necessary network documentation, including operational instructions and technical diagrams.
• Monitor and analyze the network regularly for short- and long-range planning of in-house systems.
• Assist with third-party maintenance coordination for network equipment or vendor support as needed.

What we're looking for

• Active US DoD Secret security clearance required
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience or advanced degree with 3 years experience
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, firewalls
• Knowledge of current cabling and fiber standards
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed
• Preferred: Security+ certification within 6 months and CCNA within a year
