What you'll do

  • Define end-to-end identity vision for consumer Copilot, including user models and service-to-service authentication.
  • Drive common authentication patterns and SDKs for Windows, Edge, iOS, Android, and web platforms.
  • Establish and monitor key authentication metrics to ensure security and reliability across Copilot experiences.
  • Influence technical direction and best practices in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Define secure authentication patterns for AI-powered flows addressing novel risks and supporting delegation.
  • Ship well-tested code and frameworks that other teams can quickly adopt.
  • Balance customer experience with consumer-grade security, privacy, and compliance expectations.

What we're looking for

  • Deep backend engineering expertise and mastery of modern consumer identity protocols.
  • Ability to make sound trade-offs between risk and velocity in secure systems.
  • Experience defining and leading cross-platform authentication and authorization strategies.
  • Hands-on experience shipping secure, well-tested code for large-scale consumer applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Account integration and consumer identity lifecycle management.
  • Track record of mentoring senior engineers and driving platform standard adoption.
  • Strong collaboration skills across globally distributed teams and multiple product teams.
