As a Director of Governance & Technology at Microsoft’s Digital Safety Unit, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement an enterprise-scale digital safety governance model, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Design and evolve a digital safety governance framework aligned with Microsoft’s standards and enterprise risk management.
Drive clarity of accountability and establish executive-ready governance rhythms, including reporting and decision forums.
Lead delivery of measurement frameworks and performance indicators to assess digital safety compliance across services.
Oversee core operational functions such as incident management, governance execution, and risk assurance.
Partner with engineering teams to embed digital safety into system design and development processes.
Influence senior leaders and align diverse stakeholders around shared goals in a highly matrixed environment.
What we're looking for
10+ years of experience leading large-scale programs in technology or related domains within complex global organizations.
Proven ability to translate strategy, regulatory requirements into scalable operational systems with clear ownership and measurable outcomes.
Technical fluency with a track record of close partnership with engineering leaders on platforms, services, or AI-enabled systems.
Experience owning enterprise operational functions such as incident management, governance execution, and trust & safety operations.
Demonstrated success in influencing senior leaders and driving alignment across matrixed cross-functional teams including Legal, Engineering, Product, Operations, and Executives.
Analytical capability to define, track, and optimize Customer Experience, Trust & Safety, or operational performance metrics.
