The Microsoft AI Web Data team seeks a Principal Software Engineer to drive the development of next-generation platforms for Bing and Microsoft AI. Lead the design and development of scalable systems to discover diverse web content efficiently.

Design near-real-time indexing methods to ensure content freshness in the Web Data platform.
Work closely with Applied Scientists to deploy algorithms improving system performance and accuracy at scale.
What we're looking for
10+ years of technical engineering experience in coding languages such as C++, Java, Python.
Experience with processing large-scale data (Terabyte to Petabyte) using efficient algorithms for feature engineering and deploying AI/ML models on accelerators like NVIDIA GPUs.
Hands-on experience working with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) or building highly scalable backend systems (distributed systems, microservices).
Familiarity with search stack and grounding stack for AI assistants, including understanding of black-hat SEO and malicious techniques targeting traditional and generative search.
Ability to design and implement models and pipelines for near-real-time indexing and content freshness.
