As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) on Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity of datacenters by ensuring that all critical infrastructure is functioning safely and efficiently. Your day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment issues independently, preparing detailed reports, and developing standard operating procedures to ensure reliable execution. You will perform various types of maintenance and repairs for specific disciplines, respond to abnormal conditions using emergency protocols, and monitor facility equipment for unsafe or abnormal conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and controls systems, as well as the ability to work in high-stress environments with minimal supervision. Essential skills include proficiency in telemetry and control systems, knowledge of Task Hazard Analysis (THA), Method Statement of Work (MSOW), and experience with digital methods of operating procedures (DMOPs).
