Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.
The Manager, IT Architecture leads a global team that designs and delivers robust IT solutions for PSLD’s Integrated Logistics Services across six key functions: Transportation, Global Operations, Packaging, Trade Operations, Procurement, and the Legal Trade Center of Excellence. Working with business, IT, and external partners, this role defines a technology roadmap aligned to business strategy and directs solution design and deployment for PSLD transformation initiatives, with an emphasis on digitalization, data analytics, system modernization, and application rationalization to support core operations and deliver reliable IT outcomes.

What You Will Do:
- Lead and manage a global team that designs, develops, and deploys business and technical solutions aligning with business strategy.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate requirements into solutions.
- Lead solution initiatives and collaborate across diverse business and IT teams.
- Develop and maintain strategic IT roadmaps that reflect and support long-term business objectives.
- Ensure delivery of IT solutions within scope, budget, timeline, and quality expectations.
- Oversee the technology footprint, standards, and architectural governance.
- Serve as an enterprise architect, providing strategic direction for technology decisions.
- Act as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders on IT strategy and priorities.
- Support cybersecurity strategy and implementation, ensuring alignment with enterprise policies.
- Motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive innovation in solution design and delivery.
- Deliver incremental business value through ongoing innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies.
- Lead and execute transformation projects that generate OPACC savings.
- Serve as the PSLD IT liaison for Enterprise initiatives, such as ERP deployments.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, including enterprise architecture methodology, SOX compliance, and IT controls.
- Build strong business relationships and deliver IT solutions that exceed expectations through effective collaboration and execution.
- Foster a culture of innovation, LEAN practices, collaboration, commitment, and urgency to drive business success.
What You Have (Basic Requirements):
• Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science (IT), or a related discipline, or 10+ years of experience in an IT concentration in lieu of a degree
• Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Partnering for Clients' Success: Knowledge of and insight into clients' key objectives and ability to work and think alongside clients to achieve clients' current and future aspirations and successes.
• Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
• Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
• Organizational Change Mgmt: Knowledge of techniques to successfully effect change in an organization and ability to manage the successful and smooth transition from current to desired culture, practices, structure, and overall organizational environment.
• Emerging Technologies: Knowledge of emerging technologies; ability to design, apply and evaluate new information technologies for business environments.
• Enterprise Architecture (EA): Knowledge of enterprise architecture; ability to develop, communicate and control methods and models for business processes, information systems and infrastructure.
Top Candidates Will Also Have (Preferred Requirements):
- Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science (IT), or a related discipline.
- Ability to challenge existing processes and solutions in pursuit of the best enterprise outcome.
- Ability to operate effectively in a highly versatile role within a dynamic business environment.
- Broad background in systems development and/or support of customer applications.
- Experience across distributed, mainframe, integration, and cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in conducting software assessments to inform technology and investment decisions.
- Demonstrated capability in market intelligence and industry research.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and/or TOGAF certification.
- 10+ years of progressively complex IT experience, typically gained through staff and supervisory assignments.
- Proficiency in IT systems architecture and designing end-to-end solutions.
- Proven success leading teams to deliver creative technology solutions that enable business strategy execution.
- Experience partnering with global business stakeholders on transformation projects.
- Strong business relationship management and a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to provide strategic direction, influence stakeholders, and develop IT roadmaps.
- Demonstrated initiative and accountability to achieve outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with intellectual curiosity.

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
