What you'll do

  • Manage daily activities of database administration staff for projects and production.
  • Provide data management guidance to ensure data integrity and recoverability.
  • Approve changes to logical database design and Corporation’s databases.
  • Assign personnel to projects and direct their activities effectively.
  • Develop, publish, and maintain a departmental assessment with clear goals.
  • Manage the annual departmental operating budget in accordance with guidelines.
  • Contribute to decisions on personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.

What we're looking for

  • Broad knowledge of SQL databases including DB2, Sybase, Informix, SQL Server, EDB, and Postgres.
  • In-depth understanding of database department's role in the development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience managing a database group across multiple operating systems for over 3 years.
  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience in database and data administration.
  • Strong communication, analytical, judgment, and management skills with customer interaction expertise.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Project, Word, Excel.
