Lead Systems Engineer - Traffic Management

What you'll do

• Lead and deliver end-to-end milestones on the traffic platform, from problem definition to rollout.
• Take ownership of complex problems, analyzing trade-offs to propose clear solutions balancing reliability, performance, security, and effort.
• Ensure stability and quality by designing with failure in mind, implementing tests and observability, and reacting quickly to incidents.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to understand needs, align on priorities, and turn them into technical plans and milestones.
• Use AI tools daily to investigate issues, write code, explore solutions, and automate repetitive work for safe, effective workflows.
• Create clear technical documentation and runbooks to help other engineers understand and operate the traffic platform confidently.

What we're looking for

• Operated large-scale, high-performance distributed systems in the cloud.
• Led end-to-end infrastructure platform projects from design to production go-live.
• Experience with Istio or other service-mesh technologies like Linkerd or Envoy-based solutions.
• Hands-on experience using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
• Used AI daily in engineering workflows, validating outputs for quality and safety.
