We are seeking a hands-on Tech Lead to drive the evolution of our mission-critical platform for Capital One’s Commercial Lending Underwriters. As a Lead Back End Software Engineer, you will lead from the front by balancing high-impact individual contributions with regular pair programming, ensuring technical excellence across Angular, NestJS, and AWS. You’ll work closely with legacy systems in Java, .NET, Go, and Python to modernize backend infrastructure and enhance data governance. Your responsibilities include translating complex business needs into a streamlined architecture while utilizing languages like Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, Node.js, and Go, along with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services. This role is ideal for seasoned engineers who excel in architecting scalable systems and staying deeply involved in the codebase.

Bachelor’s or Master's Degree required
Hands-on experience leading backend modernization initiatives
