As a Lead Data Scientist at CVS Health's Forecasting Center of Excellence, you will lead the design and scaling of a unified forecasting framework that supports pricing, promotions, and assortment decisions across retail operations. Your day-to-day involves integrating internal and external data sources into scalable pipelines, evaluating forecasting methods for stability and interpretability, and developing scenario planning frameworks to measure business impact. You will also implement robust MLOps practices in cloud environments like Azure or AWS, elevate the technical bar within the organization by recruiting top talent, and translate complex business objectives into a multi-quarter roadmap. The role requires expertise in Python, SQL, and ML platforms such as Databricks and SageMaker, along with experience in forecasting systems in retail environments.
Own the design and evolution of a unified forecasting architecture for consistent outputs across use cases.
Integrate internal and external data sources into scalable forecasting pipelines to enhance accuracy and stability.
Evaluate tradeoffs between various forecasting methods to ensure outputs are stable, interpretable, and decision-ready.
Develop scenario planning frameworks to measure business impacts of pricing, promotions, and assortment decisions.
Implement robust MLOps practices for deployment, monitoring, and retraining in cloud environments like Azure or AWS.
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience in forecasting or demand modeling, preferably in retail or B2C environments.
3+ years of hands-on experience with data engineering/MLOps teams to deploy production forecasting systems.
4+ years of proficiency in Python and SQL for large-scale data processing.
Strong leadership skills, including communication, presentation, and mentoring junior team members.
Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Expertise in evaluating tradeoffs across various forecasting methods to ensure stability and interpretability.
Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in quantitative fields with applied experience in forecasting.
