What you'll do

  • Assist in building, deploying, and maintaining Confluent Kafka platforms on OpenShift (OCP).
  • Support the deployment and operation of Kafka components including brokers, KRaft controllers, Schema Registry, and Kafka Connect.
  • Participate in platform upgrade activities, configuration updates, and performance tuning.
  • Evaluate and integrate Kafka ecosystem tools and OCP-native capabilities under senior guidance.
  • Contribute to automation efforts for CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code templates for Kafka deployments.
  • Implement high availability patterns including replication, failover configurations, and cluster linking.
  • Follow platform governance standards, ensuring compliance with naming conventions, topic management, and security best practices.

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of Apache Kafka concepts and Confluent Platform
  • Experience with OpenShift (OCP) and Kubernetes container platforms
  • Basic knowledge of automation tools like Shell scripting, Python, etc.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps principles
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for team environments
