As a Sr. QA Engineer I at Flywire, you will join our dynamic Quality Assurance team in the FinTech sector, focusing on enhancing engineering productivity and service quality for global clients across various industries. Your day-to-day responsibilities include understanding requirements, writing tests, solving production issues, and driving design while considering system-wide concerns. You’ll also mentor team members, contribute to tech communities, and identify talent. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience in web application development or QA, knowledge of JavaScript and Java, familiarity with RESTful services, continuous delivery practices, Docker, and performance testing tools. Experience in FinTech, payment systems, or student information systems is a plus. Fluency in English and strong communication skills are essential as you collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Understand requirements and user stories to conduct risk-based testing.
Detect and solve production issues beyond the current scope of development.
Investigate test failures in production to identify design flaws and suggest solutions.
Write high-quality, maintainable code for sustainable tools and processes.
Mentor team members and lead projects to improve overall productivity.
Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
Identify opportunities to enhance existing systems and contribute to tech communities.
What we're looking for
4+ years of web application development or quality assurance experience
Proficiency in JavaScript, Java, and Shell scripting
Expertise in RESTful web services and tools like Postman, Rest-assured, Playwright
Hands-on experience with Continuous Delivery and containerization technologies (Docker)
Understanding of performance testing concepts and code quality metrics
Experience building test automation frameworks and contributing to agile development practices
Fluency in English and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
