What you'll do

  • Monitors and analyzes engineering spend trends and anomalies.
  • Builds forecasts for engineering spend, partnering with finance and leaders.
  • Partners with teams to incorporate cost considerations into roadmaps and decisions.
  • Leads initiatives to optimize costs through rightsizing and efficiency improvements.
  • Creates dashboards that make spend understandable and actionable for stakeholders.
  • Implements FinOps practices such as showback/chargeback models and unit economics.
  • Drives alignment and behavior change, embedding cost awareness in engineering workflows.

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years of experience in cloud-native or SaaS environments at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and finance.
  • Proven track record of partnering with engineering teams on cloud infrastructure, data platforms, AI/ML workloads, and SaaS spend.
  • Strong foundation in cost analysis, forecasting, budgeting, variance management, and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Comfortable working directly with data using SQL or AI-assisted tools to explore datasets and answer ad hoc questions.
  • Experience building clear, intuitive dashboards and BI artifacts for both engineers and executives.
  • Demonstrated success driving adoption of cost awareness in engineering workflows without direct authority.
  • Familiarity with FinOps principles such as shared ownership, showback/chargeback models, unit economics, and optimization strategies.
