Distinguished, Software Engineer -AI/ML Engineer- Walmart Connect

What you'll do

• Shape the long-term AI engineering roadmap for Walmart Ads to align with the organization's vision.
• Lead strategy and execution for pre-training, fine-tuning, and aligning foundation models for retail media.
• Architect scalable Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines that integrate real-time inventory and pricing data.
• Develop autonomous multi-agent systems for complex reasoning and dynamic optimization in advertising campaigns.
• Drive inference optimization to ensure generative models are cost-efficient and meet ultra-low latency requirements.
• Ensure AI capabilities are decoupled yet integrated with core ad servers, handling millions of queries per second.

What we're looking for

• 12+ years of ML engineering experience with at least 5 years in a senior technical leadership role.
• Deep expertise in training, fine-tuning, and deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) and Foundation Models into production.
• Proven track record designing complex systems using LLM orchestration frameworks and multi-agent architectures.
• Strong background in designing highly available, low-latency distributed systems handling 100K+ queries per second.
• Expert proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or C++, alongside modern ML frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow.
• Experience with scalable vector databases, feature stores, and real-time streaming pipelines.
• Strong foundational knowledge of programmatic advertising, RTB, click-through rate prediction, and dynamic creative optimization.
