As a Distinguished Engineer in the R2E SRE organization, you will lead the transformation of our systems into intelligent co-pilots that enhance customer experience by reducing organizational toil and maximizing engineering velocity. You will govern secure IaC/Platform strategy across multi-cloud environments and lead the technical development of SRE talent. The role requires expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, SPA frameworks, and Generative AI to enhance automation and operational workflows. Ideal candidates have experience with hyper-scale distributed systems, advanced cloud-native architectures, and a track record of delivering significant efficiency gains through innovative platform design and operation.

What you'll do

  • Define and implement a multi-year reliability roadmap for the entire product portfolio.
  • Invent engineering solutions to reduce organizational toil and maximize engineering velocity.
  • Serve as final escalation point for system crises, codifying best practices for outage prevention.
  • Govern secure IaC/Platform strategy for enterprise-wide adoption across multi-cloud environments.
  • Establish organization-wide reliability standards and Error Budget governance to align with business objectives.

What we're looking for

  • At least 7 years of experience in Software, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Solution Architecture.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, highly available system design, and web technologies.
  • Experience leading the application of Generative AI to enhance automation and operational workflow.
  • Ability to define and execute multi-year strategic roadmaps for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD across an organization.
  • Expertise in optimizing hyper-scale distributed systems and advanced cloud-native architectures.
