Director of AI Engineering & Research, Frontier Systems

What you'll do

• Own the technical roadmap for deploying agentic and perception systems on embedded warfighting compute.
• Set engineering standards and design review processes for ML development across the team.
• Drive the ML infrastructure roadmap, including training clusters and data pipelines for classified environments.
• Manage and grow a cohort of cleared ML engineers with emphasis on technical mentorship and hands-on design reviews.
• Provide deep technical leadership in designing, training, and deploying agents and perception systems.

What we're looking for

• Experience managing and growing ML engineering teams with a track record of setting technical standards.
• Hands-on experience shipping ML systems into production, including in classified or air-gapped environments.
• Deep expertise in modern deep learning and generative AI, including agents, VLA models, and multimodal perception.
• Demonstrated ownership of ML infrastructure such as training pipelines, distributed training, and eval infrastructure.
• Strong programming skills with a willingness to remain technically hands-on in design, code review, and debugging.
