Director, Litigation

What you'll do

• Own and manage a broad portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including responding to subpoenas, drafting legal briefs, and negotiating settlements.
• Manage outside counsel relationships by staffing cases, setting strategies, reviewing work product, and managing budgets.
• Advise business partners on proactive measures to address potential disputes while supporting business objectives.
• Lead a small team focused on consumer and merchant disputes, devising scalable processes for rapid business growth.

What we're looking for

• 15+ years of broad litigation experience in complex commercial cases, including class actions.
• Extensive management experience leading legal teams and handling outside counsel relationships.
• Proficiency with AI tools and solutions for daily work as a litigator.
• Strong business acumen and ability to craft practical legal solutions balancing risk and reward.
• Expertise in e-discovery issues, document retention policies, and third-party subpoena compliance.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to advocate effectively.
• Prior in-house experience at a technology or sharing economy company is highly desirable.
