The Director of Finance Technology at Northern Trust leads the development and operational excellence of critical finance technology platforms, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and business decision-making. This role involves collaborating closely with finance leadership, regulatory stakeholders, and enterprise-wide technology teams to modernize and maintain essential finance systems such as Financial Planning & Forecasting, Accounting Rules Engine (ARE), General Ledger integrations, and Regulatory Reporting. Key responsibilities include defining the Finance Technology strategy, leading large-scale transformation initiatives, ensuring platform stability and compliance, and developing high-performing global engineering teams. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in regulated financial services with a strong technical background, hands-on experience in finance technology solutions, and expertise in vendor management and strategic partnerships.
Define and execute the Finance Technology strategy aligned to modernization and regulatory priorities.
Lead end-to-end delivery of critical Finance platforms including Financial Planning & Forecasting, ARE, GL, and Regulatory Reporting.
Ensure Finance platforms meet regulatory, audit, SOX, and operational resilience expectations with strong controls.
Partner with Finance leadership to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
Govern strategic vendors and platform providers to ensure quality delivery and cost discipline.
