As a Senior Data Engineer at BlackRock SMA Solutions, you will join a fast-growing team responsible for designing and building the data and integration platform that powers portfolio construction and reporting. Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing end-to-end features across APIs, microservices, and data pipelines, ensuring reliable and secure data exchange with internal and external systems. You will work closely with product and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions in a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes. Design, develop, and own end-to-end features across data pipelines, APIs, and microservices.

Support building, releasing, and operating cloud-native services on Kubernetes-based platforms.
Troubleshoot issues in live production environments and provide real-time support for critical incidents.
Continuously improve the platform by modernizing components and adopting contemporary technologies.
What we're looking for
5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, integration engineering, or backend/full-stack engineering.
Strong understanding of programming fundamentals and proficiency in Java/Python.
Solid experience with SQL and relational databases.
Experience designing and consuming modern APIs (RESTful services).
Ability to troubleshoot production issues and provide real-time support for critical incidents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
