Leidos Digital Modernization Group is seeking a Data Engineering Specialist to join the Global Management System (GMS) Team for the GSM-O II contract at Scott AFB or Ft. Meade. This role involves supporting DISA’s mission by integrating and enriching DISN network topology data, designing and implementing data enrichment pipelines using Confluent Kafka and Elastic platforms, and maintaining these systems to ensure reliability. The candidate will develop CI/CD pipelines, automate testing processes, and collaborate in Agile scrum teams while adhering to DoD security standards. Essential skills include proficiency with Python, Java, SQL, JavaScript, and experience with Kibana, Power BI, Tableau, Git, JIRA, and Confluence. Preferred qualifications involve knowledge of CI/CD practices, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS GovCloud, and AI/ML integration into data platforms.

What you'll do

  • Support the integration and enrichment of DISN network topology data for advanced analytics.
  • Design and implement data enrichment pipelines integrating diverse sources into Confluent (Kafka) and Elastic platforms.
  • Develop and maintain Kibana visualizations to support operational insights and decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation, infrastructure, and system issues in Kafka and Elastic clusters.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation ensuring compliance with DoD security standards.

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering within Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Proficiency with Python, Java, SQL, JavaScript, and HTML for software development.
  • Experience designing and implementing ETL processes and data pipelines using Kafka and Elastic platforms.
  • Active Secret DoD Security clearance and Security+ certification prior to start date.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, containerized environments (Kubernetes/Docker), and DevOps tools.
