The Data Analyst 3 role on the Insights Enablement Hub team is responsible for collecting, analyzing and presenting data to improve decision making and enable data-driven outcomes across the organization. This individual should have a high degree of curiosity about the business and the skills to discover impactful insights from data. They should be able to communicate those insights in a way that builds confidence and enables decisions that drive business value.

We are part of Nordstrom’s Insights Delivery organization, and the Insights Enablement Hub (IEH) team is at the center of enabling analytics at scale across the enterprise. Our focus areas include BI Transformation (migrating from legacy platforms to Looker), Looker platform enablement, Conversational Analytics, and Looker Studio Pro. We build data products, provide analytics consulting, and partner with teams across the business to accelerate the adoption of modern, self-service analytics. A day in the life…

  • Partner with key stakeholders to define success and develop measurement frameworks.
  • Dive deep into complex business problems and provide insights on business vertical performance through hypothesis testing.
  • Responsible for delivering a suite of analytical products include analyses, dashboards, insights, and recommendations.
  • Present the results to the stakeholders up to executive level and guide them to make the best use of analytics in their domain.
  • Find opportunities to use data to develop new strategies and improve overall performance.
  • Deliver high quality solutions and recommendations to a variety of problems both independently and through the collaboration with team members and business partners to drive outcomes.
  • Bring data to life through storytelling in a clear and meaningful way to audiences with mixed levels of technical expertise.
  • Reconcile divergent demands from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support BI platform enablement, dashboard development, and Looker adoption across business teams.
  • Actively collaborate to apply learning to other channels/campaigns/products/business units.

You own this if you have…

  • Experience developing in Looker using LookML, including building Explores, views, derived tables, and dashboard content in a production Looker environment.
  • 5+ years of professional experience analyzing data, drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one statistical or programming language (R or Python preferred) to import, summarize, and analyze data.
  • 3+ years of experience extracting & manipulating large data sets from relational databases using SQL (BigQuery preferred; experience with other platforms such as Redshift, Oracle, or Teradata also valued).
  • Strong proficiency with advanced BI and visualization tools, including Looker (Looker Core, LookML, Looker Studio Pro), and familiarity with other platforms such as Tableau, Data Studio, or similar.
  • Clear and effective written/verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop strong, synergistic relationships with a multitude of teams and personnel
  • Strong problem solving skills:
  • Plan out the priority order of tasks
  • Make smart decisions regarding trade-offs.

$102,500.00 - $170,500.00 AnnualThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
