Join our dynamic security team as an Information Systems Security Engineer at the senior level, where you will play a crucial role in safeguarding critical systems and networks. Your daily responsibilities include participating in incident response, monitoring security logs for anomalies, interpreting vulnerability scans, and assisting System Administrators and Owners with developing System Security Plans compliant with NIST standards. You’ll conduct Authorization and Accreditation activities to ensure systems maintain Authorization to Operate, provide recommendations for controls based on discovered vulnerabilities, and develop training materials to enhance overall security awareness. Ideal candidates possess a Bachelor’s degree in information systems security or equivalent experience, along with eight years of relevant work history, expertise in IT Security products like intrusion detection systems and vulnerability scanners, and knowledge of FISMA and NIST guidelines. Proficiency in Nessus, BigFix, FireEye HX, Splunk, and Microsoft Office is a plus, as is the ability to acquire or maintain an active Secret security clearance.

What you'll do

Participate in security incident handling and response to mitigate vulnerabilities.
Monitor security logs for anomalies, investigate violations, and document events.
Assist System Administrators in developing System Security Plans based on NIST guidelines.
Conduct Authorization and Accreditation activities to ensure systems maintain ATO status.
Provide recommendations for controls and countermeasures compliant with federal policies.
Develop and present training materials to enhance security awareness among personnel.

What we're looking for

Eight or more years of experience in information systems security and network operations/support.
Solid understanding of IT Security including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
Experience with FISMA, NIST guidelines, and evaluating system/network/security controls.
Active Secret level security clearance or ability to acquire one.
Strong written and oral communication skills for documentation and training materials.
Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and protocols.
