As the technical lead for Medtronic’s enterprise Building Automation System (BAS), you will oversee the full lifecycle of BAS projects, including engineering, installation, and system optimization, ensuring facilities operate efficiently and sustainably. Your responsibilities include leading project milestones, supporting standardization efforts, and enhancing HVAC and electrical systems through continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with facility teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot complex issues and improve operational efficiency across Medtronic’s global sites. Essential skills for this role include a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field plus 2+ years of experience in BAS operations, along with expertise in HVAC systems, electrical work, and plumbing. Familiarity with Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, and Distech systems is beneficial, as well as knowledge of automation protocols like Modbus, BACnet, and LonWorks.

What you'll do
Manage and oversee small to moderately sized BAS-related projects from concept through execution.
Review and mark up drawings, specifications, and equipment/system designs for BAS projects at Medtronic sites.
Lead the continuous improvement of Medtronic’s Building Automation System Standards and SOPs.
Perform inspection and testing of control equipment including pneumatic, electric, electronic, and digital systems.
Provide training and support to Maintenance/Facility Staff on BAS operations.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience with BAS, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
Experience with BAS design, installation, commissioning, and training
Excellent mechanical system knowledge (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
Tridium/Niagara BAS Certification preferred
Ability to manage financial aspects of BAS projects including RFPs and purchase orders
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for Medtronic’s BAS Standards and SOPs
Experience with automation protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, LonWorks
