As a Back End Systems Engineer at the Director level within EquityZen’s technology team, you will lead the development and maintenance of backend systems that support the company's growing Sales operations. Your daily responsibilities include owning platform health by ensuring robust architecture, driving impactful projects to enhance customer experience, evolving service-oriented architecture through microservices and event-driven frameworks, and enhancing system resilience with a focus on security and scalability. You will also innovate by introducing improvements via rapid PoCs and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement key initiatives. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in designing complex systems, proficiency in Python (Django, GraphQL), and expertise in AWS Cloud deployment. Additionally, you should be well-versed in SOA, microservices, event-driven frameworks, and Domain-Driven Design, thriving in a collaborative NYC-based environment focused on agile methodologies and continuous improvement.
