The AVP Data Engineering role within the Employee Benefits organization requires a seasoned leader to drive the modernization of actuarial data assets and reporting platforms. Reporting to the Chief Actuary, this senior position oversees teams responsible for ensuring accurate and timely data delivery through cloud migration and consolidation efforts. Key responsibilities include refining data strategies, enhancing EBDash analytics, and transforming employer reporting using MicroStrategy. The role demands expertise in group insurance products, actuarial pricing, and BI concepts, with a focus on influencing cross-functional initiatives and fostering a high-performing team of data engineers and BI developers. Successful candidates will have over 10 years of relevant experience and strong leadership skills to navigate complex organizational dynamics effectively.
Refine and execute the actuarial data strategy to support EB's growth objectives.
Lead the migration of actuarial data assets to the cloud for better analytics.
Enhance EBDash, EB’s central BI portal, by modernizing legacy reporting platforms.
Develop and deliver accurate employer reports on time, transforming them with Microstrategy.
Partner closely with Actuarial, Transformation Office, and other key stakeholders.
What we're looking for
10+ years of experience in actuarial, insurance analytics, or related data-focused roles with significant leadership responsibility.
Solid understanding of group insurance products and actuarial pricing/valuation, including required data support.
Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and operate effectively in a matrixed organization.
Exceptional communication skills for engaging technical experts and senior executives.
Strong command of actuarial data, reporting, BI concepts, including data quality, controls, automation, and self-service enablement.
Bachelor’s degree required.
