The Associate Director of Security Architecture at Gilead’s Information Technology Risk & Compliance team collaborates closely with various departments to ensure that security architecture aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements. The position requires expertise in cloud architectures, ITIL processes, and a deep understanding of DOJ technical security standards. Key responsibilities include partnering with development teams, legal compliance departments, and procurement stakeholders to ensure systems align with regulatory obligations, conducting security assessments, and supporting internal audits. Essential skills encompass strong communication abilities, leadership, and knowledge of IS frameworks such as ISO/IEC 2700x series and HIPAA.
Understand and advocate alignment of security architecture with business and IT strategies.
Lead requirements gathering for strategic initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance.
Serve as primary liaison for assigned initiatives, ensuring continuity across development activities.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance enterprise security posture.
Develop and deliver executive-level presentations on DSP security standards and strategies.
Define and maintain principles guiding technical architecture decisions and tradeoffs.
Review existing security solutions and develop strategies to align with current DSP standards.
What we're looking for
Strong track record of designing secure architectures for complex solutions in large enterprises.
Deep knowledge of cloud security architectures (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and effective monitoring practices.
Expertise in aligning technical solutions with regulatory requirements and working with Legal and Compliance functions.
Broad understanding of security domains including governance, risk management, audit, cryptography, data protection, network security, and incident response.
Ability to translate business strategy into actionable security architectures, roadmaps, and multi-year plans.
Skilled at identifying gaps in current environment and developing prioritized remediation strategies.
CISSP or other related information security certifications required.
