Who we are looking for We are looking for a strong engineer to join our Market Reference Data team, the role would be data architecture with strong communication skill and knowledge of finance system. The work location will be Quincy, Massachusetts, United State. The role serves as a key connector between business and technology, translating strategic needs into well‑architected enterprise solutions. This position supports State Street’s ability to adopt emerging technologies responsibly, balancing innovation with stability and client trust. What you will be responsible for You will actively participate in data modeling and design decision making. You will document and update requirements You will gather detail requirements and verify with team that requirements completely define the project You will support business/functional requirement review, approval, and sign-off sessions You will support communication activities with end-user training for system implementation You will diagnose, debug, and correct problems in live infrastructure, some of which supports our production clients. You will work with other members of your team to investigate feature requests, perform detailed analysis and create specifications (where required), implement, and test new functionality. You will support a follow-the-sun operations approach working with colleagues across three continents. You will work in a truly agile way, all the way down to using agile infrastructure techniques. You will interact with your peers across the transformation effort across all teams to ensure that best practices are followed throughout the organization. You will leverage frameworks, tools & automation to ensure quality software deliveries. You will work on workflow automation across applications (e.g., case intake, classification, summarization, recommendation, and decision support). You will solution the Integration of GenAI into existing application ecosystems while maintaining reliability and operational resilience What we value These skills will help you succeed in this role Python/Java and SQL development experience. Strong Data modeling and design experience Good working knowledge of financial systems and market reference data. Have the ability to communicate effectively in English both writing and speaking, and the ability to communicate technical subjects effectively through diagramming. Show the capability to use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions Experience leveraging Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance business processes, operational efficiency, and decision support in an enterprise environment. Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, including model capabilities, limitations, explain ability, and responsible AI considerations. Ability to design and integrate AI-enabled solutions (e.g., summarization, classification, intelligent automation, insights generation) within existing application and data ecosystems. Awareness of data governance, privacy, risk, and regulatory requirements as they relate to AI solutions, particularly in regulated financial services environments. Experience with prompt design, output validation, and quality controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and fitness for business use. Education & Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 6 years of engineering experience. Work Requirement Expected work 4 days a week in the office.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $202,500 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
