TL;DR · Antenna Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)

As an Antenna Engineer at Starlink, you will join a dynamic team responsible for designing and building phased array antennas and other RF systems for satellites, gateways, and consumer products. Your daily tasks include setting specifications, debugging issues, performing design validation testing, and integrating antennas into spacecraft and other systems. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams such as electrical, silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing to bring innovative solutions from concept to production. The role requires expertise in 3D EM simulation tools like CST or HFSS, proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++, and familiarity with antenna measurement techniques including anechoic chambers and near-field EM measurements. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale satellite network that aims to provide global internet connectivity.

What you'll do

  • Provide phased array expertise to set specifications and debug problems for satellite and consumer products.
  • Perform design validation testing of prototype and production designs for antennas.
  • Contribute to the integration of antennas into spacecraft and other systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to steer projects from conception to manufacturing.
  • Use 3D EM simulation tools to model and analyze antenna performance.

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of research or development experience in RF and antennas
  • Expertise in phased array antennas and related debugging skills
  • Proficiency with at least one 3D EM simulation tool (CST, HFSS, FEKO, etc.)
  • Experience with antenna measurement techniques and tools like anechoic chambers
  • Programming skills in Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB
