TL;DR · AI Engineer, Platform Infrastructure, Special Programs

As an AI Engineer, Platform Infrastructure at the Special Programs team, you will design and build deployment tooling for classified sites, ensuring engineers can operate effectively without direct support. Your daily tasks include creating a deployment generator, maintaining platform documentation, building CI/CD pipelines, and implementing profile-driven rendering across various environments. You will also integrate with existing Supercompute team tools and own the monitoring stack migration. The role requires expertise in Go Lang or Python, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline creation, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices like Pulumi or Terraform. Additionally, familiarity with GPU infrastructure, bare metal provisioning technologies, and air-gapped deployment tooling is essential for this high-scale, security-focused project.

What you'll do

  • Design and build the deployment generator for AI platform infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive platform documentation for clarity and ease of use.
  • Build a robust bundle pipeline to ensure efficient software distribution.
  • Implement profile-driven rendering across various cloud environments, including air-gap targets.
  • Own the monitoring stack migration to enhance system observability and performance.
  • Integrate with existing Supercompute team’s operators and Helm charts without modifying production infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain a cross-profile CI matrix for continuous integration and delivery.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience with Go Lang and/or Python.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Kubernetes or similar containerization tools.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Buildkite, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Pulumi or Terraform) and Linux systems.
  • Experience in deploying air-gapped or disconnected environments with pre-staged dependencies.
  • Knowledge of GPU infrastructure including NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, NCCL, InfiniBand/RoCE networking.
