As a Staff Software Engineer on Walmart’s Core Foundation Platform – Web team, you will lead technical initiatives that shape the architecture and reliability of Walmart.com and international eCommerce platforms. What you'll do
Define and evolve front-end architecture for a large-scale Next.js, React, and Node.js ecosystem.
Establish guardrails (lint rules, CI policies, performance budgets) that enforce best practices at scale.
Improve build systems, CI/CD workflows, and developer tooling to optimize productivity and code quality.
Define coding standards and engineering best practices across React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
Own site performance strategy including Core Web Vitals, caching, logging, monitoring, and tuning.
What we're looking for
At least 6 years of front-end architecture experience in high-traffic eCommerce platforms.
Expertise in React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js with a focus on large-scale applications.
Proven ability to design and enforce coding standards and governance policies for engineering teams.
Strong background in performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals and caching strategies.
Experience leading cross-team architecture initiatives and influencing large engineering organizations.
Advanced knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes orchestration.
