As a Technical Program Manager at Stripe’s Internal Systems team, you will drive large-scale technical programs that span the organization, focusing on creating frictionless experiences for internal users such as Sellers and Finance Engineering. Your day-to-day involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify pain points, develop high-quality proposals, and execute complex projects requiring deep systems knowledge. You will work closely with engineering managers, tech leads, engineers, and business partners to define project scope, resolve trade-offs, and implement program management techniques that ensure successful outcomes. Ideal candidates have a background in technical program management, experience with distributed systems, and strong communication skills, along with a track record of delivering projects from inception to scale.
Define and produce high-quality written proposals and documentation for technical programs.
Execute on large-scale technical programs requiring deep systems and engineering engagement.
Identify and resolve program trade-offs in partnership with engineering teams.
Develop and implement program management techniques, frameworks, and KPIs.
Elevate the execution capabilities of surrounding engineering teams.
Build consensus and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders and teams.
Influence peers and stakeholders to achieve well-defined success criteria for programs.
What we're looking for
2+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical program management.
Strong understanding of distributed systems and ability to manage complex information effectively.
Proven track record in providing program management throughout all phases of software development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on building strong stakeholder relationships.
Experience managing technical software products from infancy through scale-up stages.
Background in technical program management within GTM and Financial systems domains preferred.
Ability to collaborate across various departments including engineering, analytics, marketing, design, and sales.
