This role is ideal for a technically minded analyst who enjoys working hands-on with platform capabilities, shared components, and cross-team execution. You will operate at the intersection of product, design, and engineering, helping translate platform and design system needs into clear user stories, a well-managed backlog, and reusable assets that can be leveraged across multiple teams.

J&J Flex
Our enterprise way of working for office-based employees provides the flexibility to work up to 2 days virtual and at least 3 days on site at your primary work location each week.
Role Summary
The Technical Platform Analyst supports the ongoing operation and evolution of:
- Digital platform services (APIs, microservices, shared platform capabilities)
- Enterprise design system, including shared components, templates, and patterns used by both design and development teams
You will partner closely with engineering squads, UX/design, product owners, and platform teams to ensure platform services and design system assets are well-defined, reusable, and aligned to delivery needs. This role focuses on execution, coordination, and enablement, rather than owning enterprise-wide strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Design System Enablement
- Support the operation of shared digital services and platform capabilities used across multiple digital products.
- Partner with business, design, and engineering teams to define, build, and maintain reusable components and templates that span both the design system and platform services.
- Help ensure alignment between design system components and their underlying technical implementations.
- Represent the shared services components in the governance council
Backlog & User Story Management
- Draft clear, actionable user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for platform services and design system enhancements.
- Maintain and refine the platform and design system backlogs, ensuring priorities are well understood and delivery-ready.
- Coordinate backlog refinement with engineering and design partners to support sprint and release planning.
Cross-Team Collaboration & Delivery Support
- Act as a day-to-day partner to product, design, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and unblock delivery.
- Support release planning and timeline alignment with brand and product launch schedules.
- Help teams adopt shared platform capabilities and design system assets by documenting usage patterns and best practices.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and reuse across the platform and design system.
- Assist in incorporating automation and modern development practices where appropriate (e.g., CI/CD alignment, component reuse, tooling improvements).
- Contribute to documentation and onboarding materials that help teams effectively leverage platform and design system capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Foundational understanding of modern digital delivery concepts such as APIs, microservices, and cloud-based services.
- Experience working with or alongside design systems, component libraries, or shared UI frameworks.
- Hands-on experience writing user stories, managing backlogs, and working within Agile delivery teams.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and design-focused stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a platform, shared services, or enablement team.
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, or UI component frameworks.
- Experience with React, NextJS (or equivalent JS frameworks), NodeJS, NestJS, or Rust
- Exposure to enterprise or regulated environments.
- Interest in improving developer and designer experience through better tooling, documentation, and reuse.
- Agile (Scrum) or equivalent experience
