As a Tactical Network Engineer on the Edge Compute and Comms (ECC) Engineering team at Anduril, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate emerging networking capabilities, design robust network topologies, and implement secure communication protocols in dynamic and adversarial environments. Your daily tasks include decomposing complex design reference missions, troubleshooting system networking issues across OSI layers, and building tooling for benchmarking network traffic. You must have hands-on experience in tactical networking, proficiency with software-defined networking, routing protocols, and commercial SDWAN solutions, along with expertise in secure communication standards like IPSec/MACSec. The role requires an active U.S. security clearance and involves extensive collaboration with software engineers to develop modeling and simulation environments for hardware-in-the-loop testing.

What you'll do

  • Integrate new hardware and software products into the Menace family of systems.
  • Design network topologies for complex missions involving unmanned and forward-deployed C2 systems.
  • Implement and troubleshoot system networking solutions across OSI layers 1 to 4.
  • Conduct trade-off studies on various comms and networking technologies, including government-provided options.
  • Build tooling for benchmarking and analyzing network traffic in tactical environments.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess an active U.S. security clearance (Secret or higher)
  • 5+ years experience in tactical networking, including ad-hoc mesh networking and secure communication protocols
  • Expertise in network traffic analysis using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump
  • Experience with commercial SDWAN solutions and empirical testing criteria for hardware/software analysis
  • Proficiency in designing robust tooling for benchmarking and analyzing network traffic in dynamic environments
