We are seeking a Staff, Systems and Infrastructure Engineer to lead the security transformation of our enterprise Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform. This role involves serving as a technical authority in secure file transfer architecture, modernizing SSH authentication from key-based to certificate-based at scale, and enhancing data protection strategies. You will define architectural standards for secure file movement across various environments, design SSH certificate authority architectures, develop automation frameworks for provisioning and managing certificates, and ensure compliance with cryptographic standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in MFT technologies, PKI, and SSH authentication mechanisms, along with experience in automating infrastructure and security controls using scripting or IaC tools. This role is crucial for improving the overall security maturity of our MFT ecosystem by eliminating unmanaged keys and driving enterprise adoption of certificate-based authentication.
Define and drive the strategic roadmap for modernizing Managed File Transfer (MFT) authentication models.
Lead the transition from SSH key-based to certificate-based authentication at enterprise scale.
Design and implement SSH certificate authority architecture and lifecycle management processes.
Ensure secure configuration of transport protocols and provide guidance on cryptographic standards.
Develop metrics and reporting to measure progress in MFT modernization and security.
What we're looking for
Deep expertise in Managed File Transfer technologies and secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, SCP, HTTPS).
Advanced knowledge of SSH authentication mechanisms, including key management, rotation strategies, and certificate-based authentication.
Strong understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), certificate authorities, and lifecycle management processes.
Experience designing scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions for secure machine-to-machine authentication at scale.
Proven ability to automate security controls using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools in complex enterprise environments.
Excellent communication skills to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Strong knowledge of encryption standards, data-in-transit protection, and secure protocol configurations.
