Meet the Moment with Alteryx

We're living through a once-in-a-generation shift in how work gets done. Data, automation, and AI are quickly becoming the center of every business decision - and Alteryx is leading the transformation.

You'll be working on the challenges that sit at the heart of modern business. No matter your role, the work you do will help organizations move faster, see more clearly, and tackle questions that used to feel impossible.

If you're ready to meet the moment with innovation, curiosity, and excellence, there's a place for you here.

Platform Architect (Software Engineering) – Alteryx Overview Alteryx is evolving its cloud platform to support large-scale, multi-tenant workloads, extensibility through customer code and connectors, and a high-quality developer experience.

We are looking for a Platform Architect to lead cross-cutting architectural initiatives that span the entire software stack—from platform capabilities to application integration.

This role is focused on driving system-wide evolution, not just designing isolated components. You will define architecture, lead major transitions (e.g., cloud migrations, platform shifts), and work across teams to ensure consistent, scalable outcomes.

You will combine architectural leadership with hands-on execution—partnering with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to turn complex changes into concrete, deliverable systems.

What You’ll Work On

You will lead high-impact, cross-team initiatives such as:Platform migrations and transformations Leading efforts like cloud migrations (e.g., AWS → GCP), evolving architecture while ensuring continuity across all product and platform teams  Cross-platform architecture alignment Defining how services, APIs, and platform capabilities evolve consistently across teams  Developer experience and SDLC evolution Partnering with internal platform teams to define requirements for CI/CD, testing, deployment, and developer workflows  System-wide design and integration Ensuring that platform changes are correctly adopted across services, with clear contracts and minimal friction

Responsibilities Drive cross-cutting architectural initiatives  Lead large-scale efforts that impact multiple teams and systems (e.g., migrations, re-architectures, platform shifts)  Assess impact across the full software ecosystem and define clear execution strategies  Break down complex transitions into actionable plans across teams Bridge platform, infrastructure, and product teams  Translate infrastructure or platform changes into concrete requirements for application teams  Partner with SDLC / DevEx teams to define tooling, workflows, and developer-facing capabilities  Ensure platform capabilities are usable, adoptable, and well-integrated Enable execution across teams  Support teams during major transitions by providing guidance, patterns, and hands-on help  Identify and remove blockers that slow down adoption or delivery  Step in when needed to prototype or validate key parts of the system Drive alignment and decision-making  Align multiple teams around shared architectural direction  Drive clear, pragmatic decisions in ambiguous and evolving environments  Communicate trade-offs and ensure consistent understanding across stakeholders

What We’re Looking ForStrong software engineering background Experience building and evolving complex distributed systems across multiple teams. Ability to reason about system interactions, APIs, and integration points at scale  Experience leading large-scale technical changes Proven track record of driving migrations or cross-cutting initiatives (e.g., cloud migration, architecture evolution) Ability to assess impact across many services and teams  Platform and infrastructure understanding Solid understanding of cloud platforms (GCP preferred), Kubernetes, and distributed systems. Able to translate infrastructure concerns into software architecture decisions  Architectural judgment Strong ability to make trade-offs across teams, systems, and timelines Experience working in ambiguous environments with evolving constraints  Cross-team leadership Proven ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across organizations. Strong communication and ability to work across diverse technical domains  Hands-on mindset Willing to engage directly with systems and teams to unblock progress and validate ideas

Nice to Have  Experience defining internal platform standards or developer workflows  Background in data platforms or analytics systems  Familiarity with internal developer platforms (IDPs)

Why This Role Matters Alteryx is undergoing significant platform evolution, including major architectural transitions and cloud migrations. This role is critical to ensuring these changes are executed coherently across the entire software ecosystem—not just at the infrastructure layer, but across services, APIs, and developer workflows. Your work will directly impact how quickly teams can adapt, how safely the platform evolves, and how effectively we can scale both the system and the organization.
