CVS Health is hiring an Observability Data Infrastructure Engineer to join its Enterprise Observability and Security Engineering team as an individual contributor. This role involves designing, building, and operating high-volume log, metric, and trace pipelines using Databricks, cloud data lakes, and distributed processing engines while aligning with OpenTelemetry standards. The engineer will work on ingestion and transformation workflows, develop scalable ETL/ELT frameworks, and collaborate closely with Security Engineering, SRE, Cloud, and SOC teams to enhance enterprise visibility and detection accuracy. Required skills include extensive experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, SQL, Python, and high-throughput ingestion technologies such as Cribl and Vector. The ideal candidate also has a background in SIEM/SOAR platforms and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
Design and operate high-volume log, metric, and trace pipelines using Databricks and cloud data lakes.
Architect an Observability Lakehouse aligned with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) standards for enterprise telemetry.
Implement ingestion and transformation workflows using Cribl, Vector, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
Normalize and enrich telemetry data to support detection engineering, forensics, and operational analytics.
Develop scalable ETL/ELT frameworks and automated data quality validation for unstructured data.
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience building and operating log, metric, and trace pipelines in data-intensive roles.
5+ years hands-on with Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar large-scale distributed data platforms.
5+ years working across AWS, Azure, GCP, including storage, compute, and event-driven services.
5+ years production experience using SQL and Python in data-intensive environments.
3+ years designing telemetry systems aligned with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) or similar standards.
3+ years experience with high-throughput ingestion technologies like Cribl, Vector, Kafka.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
