TL;DR · Staff Data & Decision Scientist

As a Staff Data & Decision Scientist in the Operations Research and Applied Analytics team, you will design and implement prescriptive analytics solutions that drive automated business decisions across risk management, limits, pricing, and more. Your day-to-day involves formulating optimization problems with clear objectives and constraints, building models to support critical business decisions, and integrating these models into production systems. You will leverage Python and SQL for data preparation and model integration while using tools like Pyomo or Gurobi for solving complex optimization challenges. Ideal candidates have a strong background in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, and experience with predictive modeling and machine learning pipelines. This role requires expertise in financial services, risk management, and deploying optimization models into production workflows to address real-world operational constraints effectively.

What you'll do

  • Formulate decision problems as mathematical optimization models.
  • Design and implement prescriptive analytics solutions for business decisions.
  • Translate optimization outputs into automated decisioning frameworks in production.
  • Evaluate trade-offs using decision-centric metrics and communicate results.
  • Integrate predictive ML outputs with prescriptive optimization models.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of risk analytics experience and 3+ years in technical project delivery.
  • Strong background in Operations Research or Decision Science with hands-on experience.
  • Proven ability to formulate and solve complex optimization problems.
  • Expertise in using linear/integer programming and constrained optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data preparation and model integration.
  • Experience deploying optimization models into production systems.
  • Familiarity with optimization solvers like Pyomo, Gurobi, or PuLP.
