This individual will lead engineering teams in driving the transformation of Employee Benefits applications using Java and J2EE technologies, microservices, AWS services like Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS, RDS, DMS, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, and Service Catalog. Responsibilities include designing scalable, secure cloud architectures, implementing infrastructure as code with CloudFormation templates and Python Lambda functions, and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires expertise in DevOps practices, CI/CD toolchains like GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, K8s, and a strong understanding of AWS services for proactive monitoring and observability. Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of experience in Java development, software architecture, and systems design, along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

What you'll do
Leads the implementation of standards and best practices for deploying applications in AWS.
Designs scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures adhering to industry standards.
Implements Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation templates and Python Lambda functions.
Mentors junior engineers and presents new ideas to leadership for continuous improvement.
Develops proactive monitoring and observability solutions to predict and detect system issues.
Uses shift-left approach to integrate security, testing, and performance in the development cycle.
What we're looking for
10+ years of hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies.
Extensive knowledge in AWS services including Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, EventBridge.
Experience designing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures adhering to industry standards.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
Strong software architecture and systems design experience with a focus on multi-year transformational programs.
Ability to mentor junior engineers and present technical topics to leadership.
