As a Senior Software Engineer on Cisco’s Silicon One team, you will lead the design and development of software features for next-generation network devices, focusing on highly scalable, low-power, and low-latency systems tailored for AI/ML workloads and internet applications. Your daily tasks include using modern C++, Network Processing Language (NPL), and Python to develop software on Cisco’s Silicon One NPU, engaging in requirement discussions with customers, scoping features, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software. You will guide a team of engineers, resolve design and implementation issues, and maintain codebase integrity. This role requires deep knowledge of the Silicon One hardware architecture and collaboration with architecture and hardware teams to shape future ASIC products. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in C/C++, Layer-2 or Multicast protocols, and troubleshooting professional networking environments, along with a background in cloud, data center, or edge networking.

What we're looking for
8+ years of experience in C/C++ programming.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience with Layer-2 or Multicast protocols and forwarding mechanisms.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of engineering experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and analyzing professional networking environments.
Leadership skills to guide a team of engineers and manage software development projects.
