Position Summary...

This role is for a hands-on engineer responsible for the end-to-end delivery of software features and ML models. The ideal candidate will operate with a product-driven mindset, writing clean and efficient code in languages like Java, RUST, or C++, while managing the full software development lifecycle from CI/CD to ongoing maintenance.
A key focus of this position is integrating AI/ML components and leveraging GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot to drive innovation and efficiency. The role involves translating complex business problems into technical requirements, designing scalable and secure software systems, and mentoring other engineers. Additional responsibilities include overseeing project timelines, monitoring application performance, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. The position also has a leadership component, which includes supervising and developing associates, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

About the team:
Our team develops and maintains robust distributed systems that support Walmart eCommerce and supply chain operations by processing high volumes of transactions per second. We focus on capturing and analyzing transaction histories from multiple sources to identify and address potential disruptions efficiently. The team emphasizes scalable platform design, iterative development, and continuous delivery to ensure real-time, accurate information for clients. Collaboration and technical expertise drive our efforts to build reliable solutions that enhance operational performance and customer experience across Walmart’s digital ecosystem.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze and classify requirements to align with business and technical objectives, ensuring comprehensive scoping and estimation.
  • Design scalable software solutions by evaluating trade-offs and converting high-level designs into detailed functional modules.
  • Develop maintainable, testable code adhering to coding standards and security policies across multiple platforms and languages.
  • Create and execute test cases to identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and support regression testing.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high availability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven expertise in software architecture, scalable distributed systems, and design patterns.
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and coding standards using languages such as Java, RUST, or C.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automation scripting, and telemetry implementation.
  • Ability to analyze and translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and user stories.
  • Skilled in code review, debugging, defect management, and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, tools, and defect lifecycle processes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and commitment to delivering secure, high-availability software solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
