As a Software Engineer II at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology (DEEP&T), you will join the Technology Enablement Engineering team to design and implement cloud-based platforms that ensure system stability, scalability, and operational excellence. Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing solutions for moderately complex problems, enhancing platform capabilities, and improving system performance through automation and observability practices. You will write clean, maintainable code in Python or another comparable language while collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable systems and automate workflows. The role requires proficiency in AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Docker, Terraform, and microservices architecture, as well as experience working within an Agile environment and contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
Develop and deliver cloud-based solutions for highly available systems.
Troubleshoot software defects and enhance system reliability and scalability.
Evaluate existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement in operational efficiency.
Design and implement automation tools to improve engineering productivity.
Write clean, maintainable code that adheres to established standards and best practices.
What we're looking for
Minimum 3 years of experience in software infrastructure engineering.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and proficiency in Python.
Expertise in AWS Cloud Infrastructure and modern infrastructure services like Docker and Terraform.
Strong understanding of Software Engineering principles, patterns, and best practices.
Experience working with globally distributed teams and within an Agile environment.
