Join Apple's Data Solutions team as a Software Engineer within Data Services, where you will contribute to building and scaling distributed data systems that power critical consumer services like Apple Music, TV, and Podcasts. Your daily tasks include working on high-scale streaming platforms using Apache Kafka, optimizing cross-datacenter replication, and ensuring low-latency delivery of user data globally. You will also focus on automating existing systems and integrating them into a centralized cloud platform to modernize infrastructure and build operational tooling for multi-region deployment. Proficiency in Java, experience with distributed data systems like Cassandra or Redis, and familiarity with Kubernetes are essential. Additionally, knowledge of Apache Kafka internals and ecosystem tools is highly valued, as well as hands-on experience with observability practices and fault injection techniques.

What we're looking for
3+ years of professional software engineering experience with proficiency in Java.
Strong background in designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
Expertise in data structures, algorithms, fault tolerance, and system performance optimization.
Experience with RESTful API design and service-oriented architectures.
Familiarity with Apache Kafka and its ecosystem tools is highly advantageous.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration technologies.
